Official Press Release for BRGR
Bread & Butter Concepts and The Kansas City Power & Light District are proudly announcing that BRGR Kitchen + Bar (BRGR) will open this summer at 11 E 14th Street, at the south end of Power & Light District. This will be the second BRGR opened by the locally owned and operated Bread & Butter Concepts group, and the fifth restaurant overall. The others are Gram & Dun, Urban Table, and the soon-to-open Taco Republic.
The restaurant, which will be housed in the old Fran’s Classic Diner location, will be a slightly different version of the original BRGR, designed with the atmosphere and attitude of the Power & Light District in mind. “Power & Light is an excellent opportunity for our next expansion,” said Bread & Butter Concepts owner Alan Gaylin. “We’ve been waiting for the right place to expand into and this is it. The scene is right, the space is right and we’re excited to get to work.”
BRGR P&L will carry on the tradition of excellent gourmet burgers established by the original restaurant in Prairie Village, but will offer a variety of additional options as well. From seasonal appetizers and entrées, they’ll carry something for any taste while maintaining the level of burger expertise expected from the original. In the libations department, the restaurant will offer an array of hand selected beers and wines as well as craft cocktails. The vibe will be a relaxed, upbeat gathering place for Downtown Kansas City denizens and habitués and will include rich textures, polished surfaces, tufted leather banquettes, and unique accent lighting and colors.
Power & Light District Executive Director Nick Benjamin is excited for the new addition and that Power & Light District’s 22nd local tenant is BRGR Kitchen + Bar. He said, “BRGR adds another extremely high quality, chef-driven option on 14th Street and we know it will be a tremendous success like the other Bread & Butter concepts.”
Restaurant design will be provided by Realm Architecture & Design, who collaborated with Bread & Butter Concepts on the original BRGR Kitchen + Bar, Urban Table and Gram & Dun.
Opening is tentatively scheduled for mid summer.
